Caid Rhymes — Cryptid

Brisbane-based investigator, filmmaker and practical SFX artist with 20+ years in horror production. Founder of Australian Mysteries (2014), Creepy Australia (2022) and Dark Are The Woods (2026). Operator of Splatter VHS, Video Horror School and Glitchforge Labs.

Speciality: Practical SFX, cryptid investigation, Fortean research, field documentation. Available for investigations across South East Queensland at no charge.

Australian Mysteries

The original site. Bribie Yowie investigations, haunted pub research, Marsupial Panther tracking, paranormal documentation across South East Queensland.

Expanded scope — Charles Fort, Fortean investigation methodology, cryptozoology, ghost sightings, bushranger haunts, unexplained mysteries.

What We Do

We investigate reports of cryptids, paranormal activity, unexplained phenomena and dark historical incidents across Australia — free of charge. We document everything on video and publish our findings here and on YouTube.

We operate as Fortean investigators — we follow the evidence, document testimony carefully, and neither dismiss nor uncritically accept what we find. The question is always: what actually happened?
